Basic Pistol Level One teaches the fundamentals of safe shooting and handgun manipulation to beginners and any shooters wishing to have a better grasp of proper marksmanship.  

This course is an introduction to the fundamentals of safe shooting and is desgined to teach the knowledge, skills and attitude to shoot properly and build a strong foundation. This class is perfect for those with no formal shooting training and for the brand new or inexperienced shooter. In a classroom setting, we cover safety topics, proper grip, position, handgun function, sight picture and alignment, firearms cleaning and other important concepts. As well, we introduce basic medical training with lots of hands on drills that will enhance your abilites to care for an injured person in your daily life.

Next, we move to our private dedicated outdoor shooting range where through a series of exercises, drills and courses of fire, we will work differing skill sets and build increased abilities and confidence. Introduction to tactical shooting and threat/defensive scenarios concludes the course. This course is an excellent prep to obtaining the Texas LTC if desired.

 You will be amazed at your progress and newly developed skills!

Basic Pistol Level Two builds on the skills learned in Basic Pistol Level One. We begin to focus on proper drawing from holsters and apporpriate gear selection, as well as, learning and honing new skills to include, shooting from cover and conclealment, tactical and emergency mag re-loads, movement and malfunctions, shooting under stress, medical care situations and basic defensive shooting. You must attend the Basic Pistol Level One or have shooting experience appropriate for these class. This class is not for shooters who have not shot before.

This course is an introduction to operating and safely shooting the AR15 platform rifles. We will cover the basics of rifle operation, manipulation, malfunctions, ballistics and transitions. Introduction to movement and shooting under stress is covered, as well as more. We will review various shooting positions and transition shooting at various distance. At the end of the course, you will have much more confidence and knowledge of how to operate, clean and maintain your rifle.

Hourly Rate of $75 with a two hours minumum required. 

Never shot a rifle before or have litte formal trainig in basic rifle techniques? This is a great course to learn the foundamentals of rifle shooting from bolt action rifless to AR rifles. We cover the basics or sighting in your rifle, safe operations, proper positions, ammunition selection, proper gear set-up and even preparing you for an upcoming hunt. Certus can customize your experience to meet your specific needs. This is a great course for new shooters and a really great introduction to shooting for youth too!

Learn the basics of shotguns and how to safely shoot and operate them. Topics may include, skeet, trap, 5-Stand and preparing for a hunt. This is also a great course for youth too!
